Cold Weather Gloves

Cold Weather Gloves

The winter officially starts on the day of the year which has the fewest hours of the day and temperatures usually start to near their lowest of the year during the same time and it is important to keep your hands protected from the cold weather. Our cold weather gloves are intended to keep your hands warm while performing any of the following tasks: bobsledding, skiing, sledding, snow castle building, snowball fight, snowboarding, snowman building, snowmobiling, ice fishing, ice hockey, ice skating, ice racing, taking a walk, hunting, and much more. You will find gloves in many different types of materials and colors in our cold weather gloves category. Some examples include leather material, neoprene material, and thinsulate material. Leather is a material created through the tanning of hides and skins of animals, primarily cattle hide. The tanning process converts the putrescible skin into a durable, long-lasting and versatile natural material for various uses. Neoprene is a synthetic rubber invented by DuPont scientists produced by polymerization of chloroprene and used in weather-resistant products, gloves, adhesives, shoe soles, sportswear, paints, and rocket fuels. Originally called duprene it was the first mass-produced synthetic rubber compound. Thinsulate is a synthetic fiber used for thermal insulation in clothing. The insulation properties are beneficial for retaining some of the heat produced by the body for comfortable warmth while the moisture produced, ex: by sweating, is supposed to evaporate. Fingerless Gloves

Fingerless Gloves

Fingerless gloves (or glovelettes also known as glubs in some parts of East Yorkshire) are garments worn on the hands which resemble regular gloves in most ways, except that the finger columns are half-length and opened, allowing the tops of the wearer's fingers to emerge through. A "glove" (Middle English from Old English glof) is a type of garment which covers the hand. Gloves have separate sheaths or openings for each finger and the thumb; if there is an opening but no covering sheath for each finger they are called "fingerless gloves". Cycling gloves for road racing or touring are usually fingerless. Fingerless gloves are also worn by bikers as a means to better grip the handlebars, as well as by skateboarders and rollerbladers, to protect the palms of the hands and add grip in the event of a fall. Some anglers, particularly fly fishermen, favor fingerless gloves to allow manipulation of line and tackle in cooler conditions. Fingerless gloves are often padded in the palm area, to provide protection to the hand, and the exposed fingers do not interfere with sensation or gripping. In contrast to traditional gloves, often worn for warmth, fingerless gloves will often have a ventilated back to allow the hands to cool; this is commonly seen in weightlifting gloves. Cigarette smokers and church organists often use fingerless gloves. Some gloves include a gauntlet that extends partway up the arm. Some anglers, particularly fly fishermen, favor fingerless gloves to allow manipulation of line and tackle in cooler conditions. We offer wool, USA made, Official military gloves, and many more. Fingerless Gloves are also known as men’s leather bikers gloves, black wool hobo styles, ladies official fashionable driving gears, windbreaker bicycle equipments, tactical army working attire, protective skateboarding fashionable clothing, etc. Fingerless Gloves are commonly misspelled as womens tatical military wool attire, etc.

Hand Warmers

Hand Warmers

Hand warmers, also known as boot warmers are either reusable or disposable packets that produce heat to keep the hands and other body parts warm when most needed. Hand warmers can be held in the hands or commonly stuck to the underwear or socks. Hand warmers are used in cold outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, hunting, biking, camping, etc. Hand warmers can be used to keep you or your pets warm when there isnt sufficient amount of heat as well. On one side the packets often have adhesive strips so they can be stuck to the underwear (never directly onto the skin as this can cause burns) to keep the lower back warm, for example. There are also types that can be inserted into the shoes or stuck to the socks. Depending on the type and the source of heat, hand warmers last between 30 minutes (recrystallisation) to 1224 hours (platinum catalyst). Reusable hand warmers generate heat through exothermic crystallisation of supersaturated solutions and are usually reusable. These can be recharged by boiling the warmers and allowing them to cool. Heating of these pads is triggered by snapping a small metal device buried in the pad which generates nucleation centers which initiate crystallization. Heat is required to dissolve the salt in its own water of crystallization and it is this heat that is released when crystallization is initiated. This type typically has shorter heat duration of 20 minutes to 2 hours. Hand Warmers are also known as reusable hunting flameless pockets, portable military emergency gear, survival camping boots, women’s mini football toe shoes, Mr. EZ Hot warming device, heat retaining material, etc. Hand Warmers are commonly misspelled as ez handwarmers, etc.

Military Glove Liners

Military Glove Liners

Glove liners can be worn by themselves or with other gloves. Gloves should fit snugly but not be tight. Pay particular attention to the length of the fingers as the fingertips can become very cold if the glove's fingers are not long enough. Ideally, the glove should be loose on the fingers and fit comfortably around the palm. A tight glove will tend to restrict blood flow and make the hand cold. In very cold weather it is often advisable to follow the skier's practice of thin inner glove liners. Glove liners are great to wear alone when temperatures are relatively mild but are a highly advisable accessory with any normal pair of gloves during cold conditions. Glove liners have an excellent feel and keep your hands warm in cold weather. Genuine military glove liners are glove liners that are seen worn by military personnel. Genuine GI glove liners are official US military liners and are made in the USA. For example, beekeepers use leather gloves to avoid being stung by bees. Construction workers might also use leather gloves for added grip and for protecting their hands. Leather gloves have also been noted throughout history. A common use for leather gloves is sporting events. In baseball, a baseball glove is an oversized leather glove with a web used for fielding the ball. Leather gloves also factor into playing handball. Cyclists also use leather gloves. Leather gloves are also used frequently by football players so that they can more easily grip the ball. Leather gloves have been a fashion statement for many centuries now. Firefighters and emergency personnel around the world rely on turnout gear, EMS wear, Stationwear and access-ories made of Nomex and Kevlar brand fibers. The manufacturer knows superior thermal protection is your top priority. That protection is assured with apparel and accessories manufactured with Nomex. Unlike other materials and fibers available to firefighters and emergency service personnel, turnout gear, EMS wear, Stationwear and accessories made of Nomex are inherently flame-resistant and wont melt, drip or support combustion in the air. And, the thermal protection offered by Nomex is permanent its superior flame resistance cannot be washed out or worn away. Military pilots and aircrew wear flight suits made of over 92 percent Nomex to protect them from the possibility of cockpit fires and other mishaps. Recently, troops riding in ground vehicles have also begun wearing Nomex. The remaining material is typically Kevlar thread used to hold the fabric together at the seams. Race car drivers wear driving suits constructed of Nomex and or other fire retardant materials, along with Nomex gloves, long underwear, balaclavas, socks, and shoes to protect them in the event of a fire. Military Wool Gloves

Military Wool Gloves

Wool has the power to readily absorb and give off moisture. It can absorb moisture up to one-third of its own weight. Synthetic fibers can only absorb 2-3 percent of moisture before they begin to feel wet. Wool is harder to ignite than most synthetic and cotton fibers used in equivalent products (higher ignition temperature); it has lower rate of flame spread, low heat release, and low heat of combustion; doesn't melt or drip; forms a char which is insulating and self-extinguishes. Wool is static resistant as the retention of moisture within the fabric prevents a build up of static electricity. Woolen garments are much less likely to spark or cling to the body. Genuine military wool gloves are gloves that are seen worn by military personnel. Genuine GI wool gloves are official US military gloves and are made in the USA.
